POSITION: Support Worker - Respite Services

Lansdowne Children's Centre - Brantford, ON

$20–$22 an hour

Lansdowne Support Workers in Respite Services provide 1:1 support to children and youth with special needs either in the community or their home.

 

Lansdowne Children's Centre is a member of Empowered Kids Ontario [EKO] and is one of 21 member treatment centres in Ontario. As leaders in community-based services and support children, youth, and their families, we offer a broad range of quality services. Support Workers, Respite Services – Part Time, Evenings, Weekends, Days


Responsibilities: Providing 1:1 support to children and youth with special needs either in the community or their home.

  • Support provided at various times dependent on individual parent requests, but generally 2-4 hours a week per contract

  • Depending on the program, Support Workers must be flexible to work varying hours per week, including evening and weekends

  • Locations: Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations of the Grand River

Education:

  • Preferred – Post-secondary school diploma in Human Services (ECE, DSW, CYW, etc.) but equivalent experience with children with special needs is also considered.

Experience:

  • Preference will be give to applicants with hands-on experience in providing service with a special needs population.


Requirements:

  • Emergency First Aid CPR level C is required.

  • A valid Class G driver’s license and personal transportation may be required.

  • Employment is conditional upon successful completion of background checks, including a police vulnerable sector check, proof of immunizations including proof of Covid Vaccination.
