Congratulations to Crossing All Bridges, 20 years...

Lansdowne Children's Centre is thrilled to extend congratulations to community partner Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre, who celebrates their 20th anniversary in November 2023.

Rita-Marie Hadley, Executive Director of Lansdowne Children's Centre, shared:

"We offer our sincere wishes for the continued success of Crossing All Bridges, and celebrate their great accomplishment."

The programs offered by Crossing All Bridges provide many Lansdowne Children's Centre client families with opportunity to continue to build hopes and dreams, and find support as they progress to adulthood.

Sharing an excerpt from the history of Crossing All Bridges, the organization was founded in 2003, when a group of local mothers - Debbie Brown, Carol Cain, Nancy Gowing and Nancy Tew-Seberras - set out to create something different for their children living with developmental disabilities.

Crossing All Bridges was featured by the Chamber of Commerce Brantford-Brant in 2020 as a nominee for the Community Builder Award

At the age of 21 their children had aged out of the public school system. Unfortunately the next stages of life, including post-secondary education, independent living, or obtaining employment, were not manageable or available for them.

These forward-thinking mothers wanted more for their children. They wanted affordable programs offering lifelong learning, a social and welcoming environment and inclusive community experiences.

Now 20 years later, Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre has grown to include a diverse mix of programs, operating a site at 65 Sky Acres Drive in Brantford.
