Lansdowne CMR21? Volunteer Information Night Will Explore A Possible Future

Lansdowne Foundation To Share Experience and Requirements, Exploring Third-Party Leadership of Annual Lansdowne Charity Motorcycle Ride For The Kids

Brantford, ON - The Lansdowne Children's Centre Foundation is offering an open invitation to persons interested in continung the annual Lansdowne Ride For The Kids, Charity Motorcycle Ride fundraising event.

There will be a Charity Motorcycle Ride Information Night, hosted by Lansdowne Children's Centre Foundation, on THURSDAY AUGUST 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Brantford Golf and Country Club. Pre-registration is requested as limited space is available.

This session will be discussing how the Lansdowne Ride For The Kids has been run in the past, logistics, partnership with the Brantford Police, and an open forum for interested parties to be able to ask questions about this event.

The goal of this event is to provide interested volunteers with a foundation of information to determine their committment to form a volunteer committee for the purpose of continuing the Charity Motorcycle Ride as a fundraiser for Lansdowne Children's Centre, as a third-party organization.

The Lansdowne Foundation announced in June of this year that the 20th anniversary event would be their last as event organizer, and celebrate with a grand finale ride on Saturday, July 6 that attracted 400 riders and raised over $55,000 in financial support for Lansdowne Children's Centre.

Following the announcement, several event participants including volunteers, riders and sponsors, many of whom have supported the Charity Motorcycle Ride for many years, expressed interest in forming a third-party committee that could take over event management and continue their support "for the kids."

Senior Devleopment Officer Candace Kingyens will lead the presentation on Thursday, August 15th, sharing her experience as event coordinator and the logisitcs that an event of this size and scope requires.

If you are interested in participating as a volunteer but are unable to attend, or if you have questions, please contact Candace Kingyens by email, at ckingyens@lansdownecc.com
