What's coming up this Fall at Lansdowne Children's Centre in Brantford?

Social Groups

*Update to Social Groups: All Children need to be registered for group, unfortunately

we cannot provide staff for extra participants who are not registered.

*Some groups have changed dates please check the calender!

*Please talk to your family support worker if your child is at risk of elopement or

aggression so we can support your child in a different way. Groups have a ratio of 3:1


Once a Month Social Groups for Ages 4-6, Ages 7-9 and Ages 10-13

Check the calender and website for times and to register.


Circle Time - 2-4 yr olds with Caregiver

Every Friday 11:00-12:00

Join us for songs, stories and play time. This will be many children's first experience

with this type of activity and that's what we're here for! Practice in a safe and

inclusive environment with other children and caregivers.


Teen Social Group for ages 14-17

Once a month from 5:30-7:30 pm at Lansdowne. Laid back, safe hangout for teenagers with a diagnosis of Autism. Caregivers do not need to stay but teen must be able to participate in a group with a ratio of 3 teens to 1 staff.


Girl’s Night Out for ages 12-17

Once a month from 5:30-7:30 pm at Lansdowne. New this Spring, this group is for

teens who identify as girls only. We will alternate between free activities at Lansdowne

and outings in the community which may have a cost associated.



Toileting Workshop- Virtual Workshop for Parents

Sept. 11 8:00-9:00 pm

Tune in to a virtual workshop on the evening of September 11 to learn about toileting

strategies based in ABA. Parents will have a chance to ask questions and brainstorm

ideas for their individual children.



Intro to Autism Workshop Virtual Workshop for Parents October 9th 8:00-9:00 pm

Tune in to a virtual workshop on the evening of October 9 to learn about Autism; The diagnosis, the difficulties, and the strengths. Perfect for parents of children with a new

diagnosis, extended family that may have questions about the diagnosis, older siblings (teens) who may want to learn more about the diagnosis, and anyone else who is interested in Autism.


Halls of Halloween Event Save the Date! Oct. 23

Info on Registration to come. The Halls of Halloween Event at Lansdowne is a great way for children to participate in a safe, inclusive and sensory friendly trick or treating. Kids and adults are welcome to come dressed in costume to practice for the “big night.” Parents and kids have a chance to walk down the halls at Lansdowne, knock on doors and recieve a treat at each door!




Lansdowne Open House Event, 50th Anniversary

Wednesday September 18, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Come to Lansdowne Children's Centre at 39 Mount Pleasant Street in Brantford to explore the services and programs available in our community to support infants, children and youth with child development needs, and their families.


Discover over 50 years of local history, and celebrate the stories and achievements of children and families, from potential to progress. Connect with service providers from Speech & Language services, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Autism Services and more, and learn about community events, SmartStart Hub and available resources online and in the Lansdowne resource library. Refreshments available.

The Lansdowne Open House is a great opportunity for friends, family and neighbours to explore what goes on within our walls and gain understanding of how family-centred services and play-based learning help children and families reach their potential.




Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll Fundraiser

Saturday October 5, Brant Park


Register your Hero Squad to fundraise for Lansdowne, and/or purchase your event tickets online. Fundraise $50.00 or more to earn a FREE family pass (2 adults, up to 4 kids)


Beginning at 11:00 a.m. this family fun carnival includes games, attractions and activities for kids to enjoy. Park entry and parking included. Refreshments available. Come dressed as whatever HERO means to you. The walk and roll is scheduled to commence at 1:00 p.m.
