What can I expect?

Once a referral to Speech and Language Therapy has been completed a child will be placed on an Assessment Waitlist. You will be contacted by Preschool Speech and Language Intake at Lansdowne Children's Centre advising you of the approximate waitlist time. Once a time for assessment can be arranged you will be contacted with the date/time. You and your child will meet at Lansdowne with a SLP where general information sharing and informal and standardized testing of skills will occur to determine your child’s abilities and needs in areas relevant to speech and language. Once the assessment is completed the SLP will meet with you and your child to review findings and determine the best plan of intervention for your child.
