What is the Child Development Program?

Every Kid CountsThe Child Development Program is a home-based service for infants and children 0 through 5 years 11 months. Developmental Consultants work with children and their families who are experiencing developmental challenges or are at risk for developmental delays, to maximize the child’s development, and provide parent support.

Outreach services include developmental screenings and consultations provided at community Ontario Early Years Centres and Launch Pad programs (contact individual locations for dates and times), and a Teen Post Natal drop-in program.

Who is eligible for the Child Development Program?

Infants and children aged 0-5yrs.1 I months who are experiencing or are at risk for developing developmental delays. Referrals can be made directly to Lansdowne by parents, physicians or community workers.

What can I expect?

Consultants provide informal and formal assessments, information about child development, assistance to connect with other community services, and support to enhance parenting skills. Service is provided in the home; frequency is based on the child and familys needs and schedule.
